Scriptures from the Holy Bible, King James (Authorised) Version of 1611
Ist Thessalonians, chapter 5, verses 16 - 24

16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
19 Quench not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings.
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24
Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

Holy Bible -- King James Version

Selah (Pause, and consider these things)
By Leonard L Hamilton Jr, Encouraging Words Ministries

What is this talk we have heard of, this thing referred to as "Godly conversation"?

Until recently, I'd never had that question asked of me. But when I ever am asked again, I think this passage would certainly be appropriate in response. A wonderful, correcting and instructional missive with assurances and blessings!

Your Invitation

The best conversations you may ever have will be your talks with Almighty God in your prayer life. I believe the best conversations to be had amongst ourselves are those that relate the love, majesty, and awesome power of the Lord of creation, Christ Jesus.

Likely the most tearful and heartwrenching conversations that will ever be heard are those of the lost souls who have never received Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, crying in anguish to a God Who cannot hear them; for no one comes unto God except through His Son, Who will only claim those who claim Him!

Realize that you are a sinner, and admit it in confession to God. Ask for Jesus' forgiveness, and pledge to follow Him from this day onward. Your experience in this act may be profound or quiet, but God has promised it will be heard, and you will be saved from the penalty of sin- eternal damnation and separation from our loving God and Father. Many perished this very day, who never paused to consider the value of good conversation. Why do you wait? Faithful is He Who has given His pledge. Accept it today. Peace to you!
