Scriptures from the Holy Bible, King James (Authorised) Version of 1611
Gospel of John, chapter 14, verse 18

14 I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you.

Holy Bible -- King James Version

Selah (Pause, and consider these things)
By Leonard L Hamilton Jr, Encouraging Words Ministries

These words were spoken by Jesus to his disciples days before His death, and thousands of years later became my salvation verse. In 1989, at a time when I thought there was no hope for my future, no friend to be found, no way to escape the failures of life and relationships, God's promise of hope and security through Jesus became real to me. I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior at that moment and have never looked back.

Have I had trials since then? Of course. Have expectations of things in this world not been fulfilled? Of course, again. But do I have all assurance that my soul will not suffer the pains of hell, that I will dwell through eternity in God's love with the heavenly host? Yes! Thank you, Lord!

Every day now has new meanings and opportunities, and I relish them all --- the good and the bad alike, because I know God allows me to experience for my own good and to share His love with others. There is nothing more I want of this world.

Your Invitation

There is always hope, but sometimes we need someone to help us find it. Friends and strangers alike may try to comfort you, perhaps try to lead you to ways that are supposed to make your life easier or more rewarding. Some may even want to tell you about Jesus - I urge you to listen to them.

Jesus waits at the door with hope that springs eternal; invite Him into your life. Accept God's gift of salvation in Jesus today. He will not leave you comfortless.
