News of the 2010 Mission to Detroit

Here are the images of the house as posted on Ebay during the auction. There is only a single view of the front of the house; the rest are of interior
rooms. You will notice several windows sitting on floors near openings that had been boarded over, I assume to protect them and the interior of the
house from thrown objects. Further details and observations may appear on subsequent pages.
Also notice, especially in photos 3 & 4, that someone took the time and care to through-bolt the plywood to hold it in place. This very considerably
reduces the negative effects of nailing plywood to the exterior of the window frame. That the windows appear whole and inside the house is also
reassuring. The bathroom sink appears to have been removed; if so, it is a simple task to replace it though not inexpensive. We have an investment here
of just $1,420.00 for the property and fees; it is still within our expected budget to make certain repairs.
The first photo shows that this is a one-story house. Taxes should reflect that fact. I will try to get additional images and/or information and observations
posted within the next few days. Please continue to talk about this mission to your friends and in church. I believe God has a plan for us in Detroit. Also
continue to pray regularly and long about His leading and provision for this ministry.
May God bless and keep you safe, and pray for the encouragement and safety of those persons struggling in Detroit as other global disasters take
the nation's eye from the all-but-forgotten needs and misery of people of faith and others in cities across America.
